Samsung has launched a new MP3 player, YP-D1, in India which has 1.8-inch color display and an integrated 2 megapixel digital camera capable of high-quality still and video recording.
The high-capacity flash memory based Samsung YP-D1 gadget has a quality MP3 digital audio player, a built-in digital camera, MPEG4 playback, and photo and text viewing capabilities.
The compact Samsung YP-D1 MP3 Player is equipped with 1.8 inch 260K color TFT-LCD screen and is available in 1GB and 2GB versions. Its integrated 2 megapixel digital camera allows up to 4X digital zoom.
The Samsung YP-D1 features Samsung’s Digital Natural Sound engine and it supports JPEG, MP3, OGG, WMA, ASF and MPEG4 video playback. The built-in speaker lets the unit double as a mini-radio, allowing users to listen to music while playing back pictures.
MSI P610 Digital MP3 Player
MSI has launched a new lightweight and stylish digital MP3 Players, the P610, featuring flash based storage space and is equipped with JPEG photo playback and a FM radio.
Weighing under 45 grams and measuring 9 cm x 4 cm, the MSI P610 portable digital MP3 player is lighter than the total weight of two AAA batteries. Besides playing MP3 music (MP3, WMA, WMA DRM formats), as well as video in M-JPEG .MOV or .AVI formats and smaller 320×240 pixels video. Intex Technologies has today introduced a new portable digital MP3 player in India which has 512-MB of storage space and comes with built-in FM radio. The tiny gadget also works as USB pen drive for data storage.

Philips has recently unveiled yet another iPod nano look alike portable MP3 music player, the GoGear featuring 2-GB flash memory.
The new Philips GoGear with 2-GB flash memory (expendable) is suffiecient for storing upto 1000 standard bitrate songs or upto 5000 medium resolution pictures and it can play MP3s, WMAs, and WAV files.
The Philips GoGear also features an integrated FM radio tuner with 20 presets, ID3 tag and album art support, and direct voice/FM/line-in recording facility.
The Philip GoGear with 2-GB flash memory is likely to be available in India by Julu 2006 and is expected to be prices at about Rs. 9,000/-
Asus J206 iPod Style Music Phone
Asus, the motherboard major has introduced, J206, a mobile phone which features full portable music playback including MP3/AAC/WAV music file format support.
Asus J206 is capable of 12 hours of playback time, has 60 MB of internal memory, and a microSD slot which allows up to 2 GB memory expansion for more music on the phone.
The Asus J206 seems to be so heavily inspired by iPod design that it has the iPod click-wheel interface almost copied, right down to the icons and placement.
The sensor under the touch pad detect heat from your hand and then the phone will determine the action. This type of the design is nice since it give you all the music player control you need. Plus it enables scrolling the music playlist simply by moving hand on the touch pad.

HCL Would Market Apple iPods and desktops in India
HCL Infosystems, a IT company, entered into a non-exclusive strategic agreement with Apple Computers to distribute Apple desktop computers and its hot selling portable digital musical gadget iPod in India.
HCL said it would provide compelete sales and service support for distribution of Apple iPods in India which will be available in the price range of Rs 4,000 to Rs 23,000 through its wast network of 1,000 HCL retail outlets across the country.
As of now, almost all Apple iPods in India have been sold by unorganised retail and grey market mostly in big cities.
Ajai Chowdhury, CEO and Chairman of HCL Infosystems, said “HCL plans to sell and distribute Apple Desktop computers for Education, media and Entertainment purposes.”
HCL Infosystems had similar kind of strategic agreements TOSHIBA for selling laptops and notebook PCs in India through its large regional distribution network.
LG Lauches 8GB MFJM53 HDD MP3 Player
LG has launched a new 8GB MFJM53, a multifunction personal digital MP3 media player with FM radio.
The LG 8GB HDD MP3 player, meant to compete with the iPod, has several features that gives it the advantage.
The MFJM53 has an 8GB drive, a 1.77-inch 128×160 pixel (262,144-colour) touch-sensitive OLED screen, and measures a slight 10.1 x 4.8 x 1.4cm, weighing 88g.
In addition to playing MP3 files, the new LG MFJM53 can handle PlaysForSure WMA files, WAV, Ogg, MPEG-4 AVI, and JPEG files.
The tiny looking gadget also has an powerful FM radio, built-in microphone, and line-in port for audio recording, and company is boasting of up to about 30 hours of music playback or 4 hours of video on a built-in rechargable battry.
Sony Ericsson W700 Walkman Mobile Phone
Sony Ericsson introduces W700 mobile phone in the series of Walkman phones.

Motorola To Introduce O ROKR Bluetooth Eyewear
Motorola has plans to introduce the O ROKR, is being touted as Gen-Next Bluetooth eyewear from Oakley
and Motorola that makes for wireless freedom, digital stereo fidelity, as also patented optical clarity.
Mororola O ROKR BlueTooth enabled eyewear that would enable wireless conversation and access to music through two integrated speakers.
The new O ROKR can stream music wirelessly from a compatible Bluetooth-enabled phone or a portable music player with an add-on Bluetooth adapter. You can use the button on O ROKR to pause the music or change songs, giving you control the music wirelessly.
iRiver Introduces D20 Dicple Alpha – a MP3 Player & Dictionary
iRiver recently launched iRiver D20, also called ‘Dicple’ a new portable device which is much more than just a digital music player.
Besides supporting the playback of various formats such as MP3, OGG and WMA, the slightly bulky, 370 gms device is also an e-book reader, a picture viewer, supporting GIF, BMP and JPG picture formats, an electronic organiser and a very advanced electronic dictionary.
