Logitech V500 Cordless Notebook Mouse
Logitech, a major peripheral devices technology vendor, has announced the Logitech V500 Cordless Notebook Mouse featuring a 2.4 GHz wireless technology.
The Logitech V500 Cordless Notebook Mouse is loaded with innovations such as an expandable chassis, a touch-sensitive solid-state scrolling panel, and 2.4 GHz wireless technology. It is designed for the mobile professional and the notebook PC segment.
At 3 3/4 inches by 2 1/4 inches by 1 1/8 inches, this mouse is just 2.3 ounces when packed away, according to a press release.
HP Introduces New Range of Notebook Computers
Hewlett-Packard India introduced new range of notebook computers for Indian market with enhanced security features that include fingerprint identification system.
The new HP notebook computers are equipped with a high security lock mechanism based on a fingertip identification system developed by company to allow access to users on their fingerprint matches against the pre-configured identification database already stored in the machine.
“The latest offerings would further strengthen the business notebook portfolio and comes with a set of personalised features that will help users to protect their crucial data,” HP India Vice President Ravi Swaminathan said.
The new HP high security notebook computers are priced between Rs 80,000 to Rs 1,20,000 based on various hardware configurations.
Sony Unveils VAIO VGN-SZ18GP Notebook PC
Sony has launched VAIO VGN-SZ18GP notebook based on Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Processor Technology which is designed using Hybrid Graphic System.
The new Sony VAIO VGN-SZ15GP runs on the latest dual-core Intel Centrino platform with magnesium alloy chassis and while a premium version of this notebook has stronger carbon-fiber exterior with a faster processor and host of security features.
Made from the black carbon-fiber, the same material as the chassis of race cars made of, its exterior is very light, yet stronger and more scratch-resistant than magnesium alloy. This notebook has an understated and classy black-and-grey theme which sits well in an office environment.
HCL Introduce Laptop Custom Made For Indian Defense Forces
HCL Infosystems has unveiled a laptop custom designed to address the specific needs of Indian defence forces. The company says that these leaptops have rugged die-cast magnesium structural components, enabled with GPS hardware, ‘on-move’ chargeability and backlit keyboards to enable work in pitch-dark conditions.
Truly rugged, HCL leaptop can be just closed and dumped into trucks during base shifting and also works in case of a drop on the ground.
These leaptops can sustain 26 repeated drops onto plywood over concrete from a hight of over three feets.
Toshiba Unveils Qosmio G30 Notebook Powered by Intel Core Duo Processor
Toshiba Corporation, launched Qosmio G30 Notebook Powered by Intel Core Duo Processor which is perhaps world’s first notebook PC with HD DVD-ROM drive.
Speaking on the occasion, company’s Computer Systems Division Manager (South Asia) Ivan Kam said that the new version Qosmio G30 is the latest model of Toshiba’s flagship ‘Four-in-one’ audio-video entertainment notebook with state-of-the-art product.
Powered by an Intel Core Duo Processor the Qosmio comes Microsoft Windows XP Media Center preinstalled. It features a built in HD Digital TV tuner as well as an analog TV tuner. You can view and record independently from either of the two tuners.
HP Launches Pavilion dv8216TX Centrino DUO Notebook
Hewlett-Packard India unveiled new notebook, HP Pavilion dv8216TX which is based on Intel Core Due processor and comes with with a ultra BrightView widescreen, dual hard drives (2 x 80GB) and 17″ Ultra BrightView Widescreen with High Color Gamut technology
The new HP Pavilion dv8216TX notebook also features nVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 Discrete video processing frees the PC to run multiple applications simultaneously, 1GB of memory. ATI Releases Radeon Xpress 1100 Series Chipsets For Notebooks
Graphics card vendor ATI Tech has announced the introduction of the new Radeon Xpress 1100 series of chipsets aimed at providing longer battery life and better performance for today’s notebook computers.
The latest Radeon Xpress 1100 chipsets for notebooks from ATI promises support for AMD Turion 64 X2 technology, better battery life, a 33 percent faster graphics core, and support for Microsoft Windows Vista.
The ATI Radeon Xpress chipset deals with Mobile AMD Sempron, Mobile AMD Athlon 64, AMD Turion 64, AMD Turion 64 X2 processors, complying with Advanced Power Management settings.

HP India Launches HP Compaq nx6110
Hewlett-Packard India, has launched the HP Compaq nx6110 series of notebooks for local market in what is seen as its latest offering in the commercial notebook space in India.
Priced at Rs. 47,990, the HP Compaq nx6110 notebook is powered by Intel Centrino Mobile Technology and comes with free Linux with limited fucntionality and with Windows XP Professional edition preinstalled at a little extra cost.
The HP Compaq nx6110 is the only notebook in its segment that offers safety features such as HP Mobile Data Protection System protects the hard drive from shock and vibration while HP Drivelock technology prevents the data in hard drive from being compromised, even if the notebook is lost or stolen.

AMD Unveils Energy Efficient CPU Chips
Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has plans to unveil a range of energy-efficient desktop CPUs with models that the it says will run more than twice as efficient as some of its mainstream desktop parts.
While the current AMD desktop chips can consume a maximum 89 watts or more, the latest energy-efficient desktop chips will consume a maximum of only 35 to 65 watts, depending on the model.
Current range of AMD’s desktop CPUs consumes a maximum 51 - 110 watts or more. Whereas the energy-efficient desktop chips would consume a maximum 35 to 65 watts, making the new CPUs about twice as enery efficient as older versions.
Apple Unveils Intel Core Duo MacBook Notebook PC
Apple Computer has unveiled the successor to its highly popular iBook line of entry-level laptops newly renamed Apple MacBook. Intel Core Duo based MacBook is to replace iBook, the entry level of Apple notebook. Like Apple iPod, MacBook is available in two colors, white and black.
The new Apple MacBook sports either 1.83GHz or 2GHz Intel Core Duo processors and has 13.3 inch widescreen TFT screens with a new glossy sheen.
Despite rumours that Apple would release MacBooks in a variety of colours, Apple decided to stick with white for the base model and a midrange version. The high-end iteration sports a new shiny black case and an 80GB hard drive.
Acer Launched Travelmate 2423 Laptop NoteBook in India
Acer has introduced Intel Celeron M 370 based notebook viz. TravelMate 2423/2403 in Indian market at starting price of INR 29,999.
Acer TravelMate 2423WXCi is small in size measuring 33.5 L x 24 B x 3.4 H cm and lightweight at about 2.4 kg with battery.
Based on Celeron M 370 1.5 GHz CPU (1 MB L2 cache, 1.5GHz, 400 MHz FSB) it comes with 256 MB DDR2 400 RAM, 40 GB Hard drive, CD-RW / DVD Combo drive, Wireless LAN, 56K ITU V.92 modem and 14.1″ TFT WXGA (1280 x 800) screen.
HP Launches New Notebook Computers
PC manufacturer, HP has launced seven new notebooks on May 9 expanding it’s laptop range of machines in a very big way.
Five of these systems are business laptops and the remaining two are consumer laptops showcasing new and sleek designs.
The new HP Pavilion dv2000 and the Compaq Presario V3000 will sport a new piano high-gloss finish.
HP dv2000 is a 14.1-inch widescreen computer that weighs about 5.4lbs. The dv2000 features either an Intel Core Duo processor or AMD Turion X2 dual core 64-bit processor.
