Sony Xperia Z Ultra Smartphone Featuring 6.44-inch Full HD Display Launched in India for Rs. 46,990

Sony has launched in India its latest high-end premium smartphone, SONY Xperia Z Ultra, that is powered by 2.2 GHz Snapdragon MSM8974 quad-core processor from Qualcomm which is claimed to be the latest and fastest mobile processor in the market and features a extra large 6.44-inch full HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. The smartphone boasts of being dust-proof and fully water-resistant and and comes with IP55 and IP58 certification.

Clad in same design DNA as that we have seen in earlier launched Xperia Z handset, the new Sony Xperia Z Ultra smartphone has 6.44-inch, 16 million colours, 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution full HD capacitive touchscreen LCD display which is protected by a shatter proof sheet on scratch-resistant glass.

The smartphone allows pen input with stylus and is compatible with any pencil with tip diameter of more than 1 mm. In fact users can use any standard pencil as stylus that would work fine for sketching and drafting.

The Xperia Z Ultra is powered by 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8974 quad-core processor with 2-GB internal RAM and 16-GB of internal flash memory storage and has microSD expansion slot allowing up to 64 GB (SDXC supported) for expandable storage.

Powered by 3050 mAh battery, the Sony Xperia Z Ultra smartphone comes with Android 4.2.x Jelly Bean and is 3G and 4G networks ready and offers exhaustive options for connectivity including WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFS and micro-USB 2.0 for wired connectivity. It also includes GPS with aGPS.

The smartphone features a 8 megapixel rear view digital camera with Exmor RS sensor and also includes a 2 megapixel front facing camera for video chat and video calling. The 8 megapixel camera features 16X digital zoom, burst mode, HDR for photo and video, and face detection and is capable of video recording in full 1080p HD. The front facing 2 megapixel camera is also capable of 1080p full HD video recording.

Other features of Xperia Z Ultra includes 3.5-inch audio jack, support for native USB tethering, WiFi hotspot, FM radio with RDS, DLNA certified, MHL support, Media Transfer Protocol support, and is Playstation certified.

The Xperia Z Ultra is only 6.5 mm thick and weighs just under 212 grams. The smartphone boasts of ultra-powerful 3050 mAh battery that is claimed to offer up to 16 hrs of talk time, up to 820 hrs of standby time. A full charged battery offers up to 110 hrs of music playback or up to 7 hrs of HD video playback.

According to Sony the new Xperia Z Ultra will come with Sony TV and Sony Music apps pre-installed, along will also include free Bigflix subscription for first one month. In addition, there are several accessories like stereo Bluetooth headset and magnetic charging dock being launched along the smartphone in India.
