Sony Xperia SL Android Powered Smartphone Launched in India

Sony has rather quietly announced its latest version of Xperia series smartphones in India with Xperia SL that has 4.3-inch touchscreen running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS.

Sony Xperia SL smartphone is a slightly spruced up version of Sony Xperia S smartphone that is powered by a 1.7 GHz Qualcomm MSM8260 dual-core processor with Adreno 220 GPU and it includes 1GB RAM and 27.8-GB internal storage in addition to 32GB expandable memory via hot-swapable microSD card slot.

Priced for about Rs. 35,000, the new Sony Xperia SL smartphone runs Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS and features 4.3-inch LED-backlit LCD capacitive touchscreen having 720 x 1280 pixel resolution protected with scratch-resistance glass.

It packs an advance 12.1 megapixel camera with auto-focus and built-in LED flash light, having 4000 x 3000 pixel still image resolution allowing full 1080p HD video recording #30 fps. The camera also features geo-tagging, touch focus, 3D and sweep panorama feature.

For data connectivity, Sony Xperial SL offers GPRS, EDGE, 3G HSDPA, 3G HSUPA 5.8 Mbps, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n wireless LAN, Bluetooth 2.0 and microUSB port for wired connection and charging. The device also includes GPS receiver with A-GPS for navigation.

To be available in four vibrant colours viz. Black, White, Silver, Pink, the new Xperial SL smartphone also features accelerometer, gyro-scope, proximity sensor, magnetic compass, Stereo FM radio, microHDMI digital out port, and 3.5 mm audio out port.

Measuring 128.0 x 64.0 x 10.6 mm and weighing just under 144 gms, the new Sony Xperia SL smartphone comes with Li-Ion 1750 mAh battery that can provide up to 8 hrs of talk time and would be available for Rs. 35,000 in September 2012, across India.
