iBall has launched its brand new budget priced Slide i7218 Tablet device that is powered by 1GHz processor, runs Google Android v2.3 Gingerbread operating system and features a full USB port connection allowing users directly connect their mass-storage flash drives, 3G data card dongles and external USB based keyboard and even mouse devices.
The new iBall Slide i7218 tablet device offers some improvements over its predecessor that includes a superior built-in speaker quality and enhanced viewing experience.
The iBall Slide i7218 weighs about 450 grams and is powered by a 1 GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor with 512MB RAM, 8GB internal storage and microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB expandable storage.
The tablet has a humble 2 megapixel rear-facing main camera with video recording capabilities and also include a VGA resolution front-facing camera for video calling over 3G or WiFi.
The presence of a full dimension USB port allows users connect their USB flash drives, data card dongles or keyboard and even mouse to the device.
The iBall Slide i7218 tablet features a 7-inch 800 x 480 pixel resolution capacitive touchscreen display and it runs on Android v2.3 Gingerbread OS that is not customized for large screen devices like this. iBall has promised Android 4.0 ICS upgrade of this tablet device with in next few days.
For connectivity, iBall Slide i7218 tablet offers WiFi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP and 3G using USB based data card dongle (to be purchased separately), and is one of the rare budget priced tablet that sports USB Host and USB OTG ports in addition to HDMI digital out port allowing direct connection to home HDTV, portable projectors.
The USB host enables users connect any standard USB mass storage pen devices to copy to or from the device and also allows connecting USB based keyboard and mouse to the device and USB memory card readers. The USB OTG port allows connecting the iBall Slide tablet to desktop PC or laptop/netbook devices.
The iBall i7218 comes preloaded with a whole lots of india specific Android apps that includes MoneyControl, IBN Live, Cricket Next, RTI India, and Zomato and includes complete Google suite of mobile apps that offers visual search, voice search, web browsing, e-mail client, chat, social networking integration, audio media player, HD video player, gaming, e-book, news, weather and access to Google Play (Android Market) to access over 200,000 free and paid apps.
The tablet also comes preloaded with “Documents to go” application allowing users view and edit MS Word, MS excel, MS PowerPoint documents and view PDF attachments.
The iBall Slide i7218 would be available for Rs. 11,999 with standard one year warranty and comes with a powerful 4400 mAh lithium-ion battery that allows up to 6.5 hrs of non stop music playback or up to 5 hrs of contiguous video playback.
