All Huawei MediaPad tablet owners can now upgrade their device to the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich version of operating system giving consumers the advantage of new and improved camera application that can be accessed directly from the standby mode with the help of the unlock key or the slider button.
Upgrading from the Honeycomb v3.2 software, the upgraded Huawei MediaPad tablet brings a host of improvements such as improved user interface, fresh application icons, improved web browser, better power management, in addition to providing an updated version of media gallery and several bug fixes and enhancements.
The ICS4 upgrade also brings to the tablet a brand new people application, added ability of dismissing running apps from the recently used menu in addition to several performance enhancements and bug fixes.
Users can download the ICS4 upgrade to their Huawei tablet device by visiting the Huawei download centre, by plugging their MediaPad tablet device into the desktop computer or laptop.
The Huawei MediaPad tablet was launched in June 2011 and it features a 7-inch 1280 x 800 pixel resolution capacitive multi-touch display that supports 1080p HD video playback. Powered by a Qualcomm’s 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor with 1GB RAM, 8GB storage with microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB expandable storage.
The MediaPad tablet also features HDMI digital out port and supports HSPA+ 14.4 Mbps mobile networking, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR wireless connectivity and includes GPS with A-GPS.
The Huawei MediaPad comes with 4100 mAh Li-ion battery that can provide up to 6 hrs of talk time and includes a 5.0 megapixel rear-facing camera that is capable of 720p HD video recoding and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera for video calling.
The ICS4 upgrade is pretty heavy at about 328.96 MB and is only available a download from Huawei download center (HUAWEI_S7-301u_FIRMWARE_android4.0_C232B002_General_Channel_05010YBX).
