HTC has finally launched in India its upgraded version of Wildfire smartphone, the HTC Wildfire S Smartphone which is powered by a 600 MHz Qualcomm processor and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread with and includes HTC Sense user interface.
Having introduced the world’s first 4G smartphone in 2008, and the world’s first 4G Android smartphone in 2010, HTC Wildfire S smartphone is successor to the HTC Wildfire smartphone and it features a stunning, contoured body that highlights the internal hardware components of the device.
HTC Wildfire S smartphone feel solid and natural in hand and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system with HTC Sense 3.0 touchscreen user interface featuring four touch sensitive buttons at the bottom of the screen.
Measuring 101.3 x 59.4 x 12.4 mm, the new HTC Wildfire S smartphone is quad-band 2G and dual-band 3G network ready mobile device that features a 3.2-inch HVGA 320 x 480 pixel 256K colors TFT Capacitive touchscreen Gorilla glass display. The smartphone comes with 512MB RAM along with 512MB ROM and includes a microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB expandable memory.
Being powered by 600 MHz Qualcomm processor the HTC Wildfire S smartphone offers a bit sluggish performance and also includes Accelerometer sensor for auto screen rotation, Gravity sensor, Ambient light sensor, and Proximity sensor for auto-screen off while on call and is based on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system for mobile devices with the next-generation HTC Sense touchscreen user interface with cloud services.
The HTC Wildfire S comes equipped with a single 5.0 megapixel auto-focus rear facing digital camera with 2592 x 1944 pixels still picture resolution, offering geo-tagging, face-detection and built-in LED flash and also allowing users record video is VGA resolution @24fps. There is no secondary front-facing camera for video calling. The camera image quality of this phone is quite disappointing indeed. Pictures taken are normally a bit blurry and out of focus and its auto focus performance is rather poor in comparison to Sony, Nokia and Samsung phones with 5MP camera.
HTC Wildfire S phone just under 105 gms and offers full range of data connectivity options that includes GPRS, EDGE, dual-band 3G HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, 3G HSUPA 384 Kbps download speed, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP+EDR, WiFi 802.11b/g/N wireless LAN with DLNA and microUSB 2.0 port for wired connection and recharging. The handset also allows users make their Wildfire S smartphone as WiFi Hotspot allowing other WiFi compatible devices to connect and share internet access via the device.
