Micromax Unveils ANDRO A70 Smartphone With Android 2.2 Froyo

Micromax has unveiled its next Android platform powered Micromax A70 Smartphone in India that seems to be another India’s cheapest Android smartphone which features 3.2-inch full touchscreen, 600MHz processor and runs Android 2.2 FroYo operating system for mobile devices.

Micromax ANDRO A70, like Micromax ANDRO A60 Android smartphone, seems to clearly challenge several under Rs. 10,000 Android powered smartphones in India market.

The candy-bar style Micromax A70 smartphone phone is a dual-band GSM 900/1800 MHz and 3G 3.6Mbps HSDPA network ready handset that is powered by a 600 MHz processor running Google Android 2.2 Froyo operating system for mobiles.

The Micromax A70 smartphone phone is equipped with 3.2-inch HVGA 320 x 480 pixel resolution 256K color capable Capacitive full touchscreen display offering easy to use and responsive touch screen functions for smooth navigation and features multi-function navigational joystick below display.

The Micromax A70 smartphone has 150MB internal memory and includes support for microSD slot with upto 32GB maximum storage capacity via microSDHC memory card allowing 1000 entries phonebook which also supports caller picture and caller ring tone.

The Android 2.2 powered handset is also equipped with Accelerometer sensor for auto screen rotate in addition to Gravity Sensor but unlike Micromax A60 does not feature GPS receiver.

Micromax A70 offers exhaustive data connectivity options that includes GPRS class 12, EDGE class 12, Bluetooth 2.0 + A2DP wireless connection, WiFi 802.11b/g Wireless LAN, dual band 3G HSDPA 7.6Mbps download speed connectivity, 3G HSUPA 5.76Mbps download speed, in addition to microUSB v2.0 port for wired connectivity and charging.

Equipped with multi format media player that supports MP3, AMR, MIDI, and WAV audio formats, the Micromax A70 smartphone is equipped with 3.5mm audio port and it also allows background music playback while users work on other functions of the phone and offers Flight Mode that allows users to access its music, camera and other functions without having to switch on the phone function or network connectivity. It also supports video playback in WMV/WMA/Mp4/H.263/AVI formats and includes FM radio with RDS and FM recording.

Measuring 111 x 58 x 13 mm the Micromax A70 Android powered smartphone is little longer in length and a bit slimmer than ANDRO A60 handset and it also offers users close integration with popular Google services, such as Google Search with voice search, Gmail, Google Talk and Google Maps.

The Micromax A70 smartphone also features Google maps, which allows free walk and drive navigation and other locating options. In addition, there are more than 150,000 applications to choose from Android Market and users have access to Google mobile services such as Google Search, Gmail and Google Maps.

The smartphone also includes popular Android based apps including Google search, Google Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, and Google talk. There is inbuild support for MS document editors including Word, Excel and Powerpoint in addition to PDF.
