Olive Telecom has launched in India its new Olive Fluid V-W1 Smartphone that is based on Google’s Android 2.1 Eclair version of operating system and offers such advanced features like 3G, WiFi, Email, Social Networking and more.
Olive had earlier in Feb 2011 launched in India its first Android powered OliveSmart V-S300 smartphone which was in fact a rebranded version of popular Huawei U9000 IEOS X6 Android smartphone already available across Europe and North American markets running Google’s latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and was claimed to be country’s first HSPA+ network ready handset.
The Olive Fluid V1-W1 is an entry level Android powered smartphone which is appropriately priced for Rs. 10,490 and packs a 3.5-inch HVGA 320 x 480 pixel TFT Transmissive LCD Capacitive Touchscreen display and the handset also includes microUSB 2.0 port for wired connection and comes with 256MB internal storage in addition to featuring microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB expandable memory.
Weighing just 117 gms, the Olive Fluid V1-W1 smartphone also features Gravity sensor, Ambient light sensor for auto-brightness adjustment, Digital compass, Accelerometer sensor for auto-display rotation and Proximity sensor for auto-display shoutdown while on the call.
Measuring just 109 x 52 x 14.8 mm, the Olive Fluid V1-W1 smartphone includes a single rear-facing 3.0 megapixel auto focus camera (no LED flash) which also allows video recording capability. Strangely, the handset does not feature and front-facing camera for video calling with 3G or WiFi.
The new Olive Fluid V1-W1 smartphone is powered by 468 MHz processor and is tri-band GSM and dual-band 3G HSDPA 7.2 Mbps network ready device which for wireless connectivity offers 3G HSDPA 7.2 Mbps download speed connection, WiFi b/g/N wireless LAN, Bluetooth + A2DP wireless connectition, GPRS class 12, EDGE class 12, and GPS with A-GPS support.
Other features of this smartphone includes 3.5 mm audio output, audio player supporting MP3, ACC, WAV, Ogg, Midi, AMR files, video player supporting MPEG-4 SP, AVC, H.263, H.264 files, support for Flash 10.1, and range of applications including Google Maps, Digital Compass, E-Book reader, push Email, social media network integration, MS documents editing including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF viewer applications.
With more than 200,000 applications available in the Android Market, users can gets a wide range of communication, entertainment, office, and financial management applications of their choice almost free.
The Olive Fluid V-W1 Android smartphone comes with 1300 mAh Li-Poly battery that allows up to 240 mins of talk time on 2G, 192 hrs of talk time on 2G network and the handset is available across India for the price of Rs. 10,490 with one year warranty.
