HCL ME Tablets Announced; Features 7-inch/10-inch Display & Powered by Android 2.2 OS

HCL has announced the upcoming launch of its brand new line of Tablet devices dubbed as HCL ME Series Tablet PCs which boasts of 7-inch to 10-inch multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display and are powered by Android v2.2 OS.

Supposedly featuring localized contents based on Android operating system, the HCL ME Tablets would be available in 7-inch and 10-inch touchscreen versions and price would range between Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 33,000.

HCL ME AE7-A1 Tabley

TheĀ  smallest of the device is HCL ME AE7-A1 Tablet that is powered by 800 MHz single-core ARM 11 processor and it boasts of 7-inch 800 x 480 pixel resolution full touchscreen display running Google Android v2.2 Froyo operating system.

The HCL ME AE7-A1 comes with 256MB internal RAM along with 2GB internal Flash RAM and features microSD card supporting up to 8GB external storage.

For data connectivity, the HCL ME AE7-A1 Tablet offers 802.11b/g wireless LAN, EVDO (also known as EV-DO, 1xEvDO and 1xEV-DO) high speed CDMA based broadband, and Bluetooth 2.1 for wireless connectivity and USB 2.0 port for wired connectivity and charging.

Other features of this 7-inch device includes 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera for video calling, 3.5 mm audio out port, built-in stereo speakers and 2400 mAh Li-Po rechargeable battery.

The HCL ME AE7-A1 Tablet would be available for about Rs. 15,000 with one year warranty.

HCL ME AM7-A1 Tablet

Next in the line is model HCL ME AM7-A1 tablet that is powered by 800 MHz single-core ARM Cortex A8 processor and it boasts of 7-inch 800 x 480 pixel resolution full touchscreen display running Google Android v2.2 FroYo operating system.

The HCL ME AM7-A1 comes with 512MB internal RAM along with 8GB internal Flash RAM and features microSD card supporting up to 16GB external storage.

For data connectivity, the HCL ME AM7-A1 Tablet offers 802.11b/g wireless LAN, Quad band GSM/EDGE mobile network, and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR for wireless connectivity and USB 2.0 port for wired connectivity and charging.

Other features of this 7-inch device includes 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera for video calling, 3.5 mm audio out port, built-in stereo speakers, GPS with A-GPS support with Google Maps, full 1080p HD video playback support and 2400 mAh Li-Po rechargeable battery.

The HCL ME AM7-A1 Tablet is expected to be priced at Rs. 22,990 with one year warranty.

HCL ME AP10-A1 Tablet

The top end model HCL ME AP10-A1 tablet is powered by 1GH single-core ARM Cortex A8 processor and it boasts of 10-inch 1024 x 600 pixel resolution full touchscreen display running Google Android v2.2 Froyo operating system.

The HCL ME AP10-A1 comes with 512MB internal RAM along with 16GB internal Flash RAM and features microSD card supporting up to 32GB external storage.

For data connectivity, the HCL ME AP10-A1 Tablet offers 802.11b/g wireless LAN, 3G HSDPA/HSPA mobile network, and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR for wireless connectivity and USB 2.0 port for wired connectivity and charging.

Other features of this 10-inch device includes 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera for video calling, 3.5 mm audio out port, built-in stereo speakers, GPS with A-GPS support with Google Maps, full 1080p HD video playback support, HDMI digital out port, Ethernet LAN port, e-Compass and 2400 mAh Li-Po rechargeable battery.

The HCL ME AP10-A1 Tablet is expected to be priced at Rs. 32,990 with one year warranty.

Initially, HCL ME Tablet will be available only in Delhi NCR region and over the next fortnight or so they will be gradually rolled out in other parts of the country.
