Samsung has today unveiled the new addition to its most successful Corby series mobile handsets with the Samsung Corby II (GT-S3850) Mobile Phone which featues 3.2-inch touchscreen display and Samsung’s TouchWiz 3.0 touchscreen user interface with social hub application.
The new Samsung Corby II mobile is quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz network ready handset that features 3.2-inch QVGA 240×320 TFT capacitive touchscreen display supporting 256K colors. Running Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface with social hub, the new touchscreen mobile also features Accelerometer sensor for auto display rotation.
The TouchWiz user interface provides quick access to social networking sites in addition to instant messaging and Exchange ActiveSync support for push email.
The Samsung Corby II also allows users to update their current status and access friends’ updates, live feeds from popular networking portles like Facebook, MySpace and Twitter using a simple Pop-up SNS interface.
In addition, the mobile phone also supports applications for uploading/updating photos and videos to several poplar social networking community sites such as YouTube, Flickr, Picasa, Photobucket and other popular SNS sites.
Weighing 102 gms, the new Samsung Corby II mobile phone includes 26MB of internal memory and features microSD card supporting up to 16GB of expandable memory on demand.
The Samsung Corby II mobile also possesses some more advanced connectivity features that includes GPRS class 12, EDGE class 12, WiFi 802.11b/g/N wireless network connection, bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and microUSB port for wired connection.
Boasting DNSe (Digital Natural Sound Engine) audio enhancement, the new Samsung Corby II also features 3.5 mm audio out port and includes 2.0 megapixel camera with 1600 x 1200 pixel still picture resolution and video recording in VGA 640 x 480 pixels @ 15 fps. The camera also features digital zoom and face detection features.
Other features of Corby II includes audio and video media players, JAVA MIDP 2.1, FM radio with RDS, WAP 2.0 browser, Push email, IM clients, document viewers, and social networking integration with live updates directly on the phone,
The new Samsung Corby II would be available in Pink, Yellow and Black, and while colors and comes with 1000 mAh battery that can provide up to 9 hrs of talk-time and 600 hrs of stand-by time.
The Samsung Corby II mobile phone will be available in Germany in late March 2011 and followed by Europe, Latin America, India, Asia, China, Middle East and Africa in coming months. In India, the Corby II is likely to cost Rs. 8,500 with warranty.
