Motorola and T-Mobile today announced the upcoming availability of Motorola CLIQ 2 Smartphone powered by Android 2.2 FroYo with MOTOBLUR user interface, which features a large 3.7-inch touch-screen display with a slide-out full QWERTY keypad that allows users to play hard and work hard.
MOTOBLUR user interface is Motorola’s Android-powered content delivery service, which organizes messages and synchronizes contacts to keep conversations in constant motion.
MOTOBLUR helps sync contacts, posts, messages, photos and much more, from sources such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Gmail, work and personal e-mail and Last.FM etc, and automatically deliver them to the home screen into easy-to-manage streams.
Motorola CLIQ 2 is a 3G smartphone that benefits from faster speeds at no additional cost on the T-Mobile 4G network. The phone features an intelligently designed slide-out keypad shortens the distance between keys and increases key size for fast text entry.
Powered by Android 2.2 FroYo operating system, the smartphone allows users to experience rich web content with full Adobe Flash Player. Combined with easy access to more than 100,000 applications and games from Android Market, the latest movie hits from the pre-loaded BLOCKBUSTER ONDEMAND application, and favorite reads via the pre-loaded Amazon Kindle application, users can turn CLIQ 2 into an entertainment hub.

The Motorola CLIQ 2 smartphone is quad-band GSM and tri band 2G GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and triband 3G HSDPA 1700/2100/850 MHz network ready handset is powered by 1GH Processor running Google’s Android 2.2 FroYo operating system and offers clear telephonic calls using dual microphones and noise cancellation technology. There is no news about the device’s OS upgradability either.

The Motorola CLIQ 2 smartphone also includes 5.0 megapixel auto-focus camera with 2592 x 1944 pixel still picture resolution, geo-tagging, and Dual-LED flash and video recording in 320 x 480 pixels @ 15fps, FM radio with RDS and also features MP3 and video media players that supports H.263, H.264, MP3, MPEG-4, WAV, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMV v9, MIDI, AMR NB, WMVA v9 files. There is no front-facing camera for video calling.
In addition, the Motorola CLIQ 2 smartphone also features GPS receiver with A-GPS and google maps and it comes preloaded with lifetime free access to fully voice-guided street-level navigable MapmyIndia maps of 401 cities in India.
Supporting SMS/MMS/EMS the Motorola CLIQ 2 smartphone also features Email software supporting corporate (Exchange), Gmail, IMAP, POP3, attachment and browser document viewer including Microsoft Office and pdf, HTML email composer. The phone also offers IM application supporting AOL Instant Messenger, Windows Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger, and Google Talk.
The Motorola CLIQ 2 comes with 1420 mAh Li-Ion battery that allows 312 hrs of standby time and 8 hours talktime on 2G network and comes with built-in access to Facebook, MySpace and Twitter Direct Messaging and other social networking sites.
Motorola CLIQ 2 also provides a helping hand with communication overload. MOTOBLUR helps manage email and social networking services right from the home screen without separately accessing Facebook and Twitter, among others. Offered in a titanium hue with a smoke gray finish, Motorola CLIQ 2 with MOTOBLUR user interface will be available exclusively to T-Mobile USA customers on Jan. 19th.
