Dell would be introducing its new Android powered, Dell Venue Smartphone, in India market later this month, which is powered by Android 2.2 Froyo operating system and featuring 4.1-inch AMOLED capacitive multi-touch display allowing users easy and faster means to stay connected, be productive and keep in touch with colleagues, friends and family.
The Dell Venue smartphone runs Android 2.2 Froyo and it comes equipped with a blazing-fast Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon QSD8250 processor for a fast mobile data experience and is quad-band 2G and tri-band 3G HSDPA network ready handset featuring 4.1-inch 480 x 800 pixel 16 million color capable AMOLED Capacitive Multi-Touch display made of Gorilla Glass for unprecedented durability and scratch resistance.
The Dell Venue smartphone is also equipped with Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate, Proximity sensor for auto turn-off, Digital compass, multi-touch input, and comes with 8GB or 16GB of internal memory, 512 MB ROM. The handset also features microSD memory card slot supporting up to 32GB expandable memory.
In addition to the comprehensive entertainment features of the device, the Dell Venue Android smartphone delivers advanced phone features including GPS + A-GPS functionality with Google Maps 5.0 with navigation, Android chrome full html browser for mobile devices, Adobe flash 10.1 support and an advanced 8.0 megapixel autofocus camera with 4x digital zoom, and video recording capability.
Featuring dedicated camera key, the Dell Venue allows video playback supporting H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, WMV video files.
For messaging it offers email client with multiple accounts, POP3, IMAP, ActiveSync, Push Email, Web mail, Microsoft Exchange, SMS, MMS, Native IM client.
For connectivity, Dell Venue smartphone offers GPRS Class 12, EDGE class 12 236.8 kbps download speed, 3G HSDPA with 7.2 Mbps download, 3G HSUPA with 5.76 Mbps download speed, WiFi 802.11b/g/N wireless LAN and Bluetooth 2.1+A2Dp wireless connectivity in addition to microUSB 2.0 port for wired connection.
Some other features of Dell Venue Android smartphone include 3.5mm audio port, internal stereo speakers, and built-in GPS with A-GPS support with Bing Maps, Java MIDP 2.0 support, and includes Audio media player supporting MP3/WAV/WMA/eAAC+ files and video media player supporting MP4, WMV, H.264/H.263 files. It also offers Facebook and Twitter website integration and includes YouTube application with Flash support.
Measuring 121 x 64 x 12.9 mm, the Dell Venue Android smartphone weighs 164 gms and comes with Li-ion 1400 mAh battery that can provide up to 6 hrs of talk time on 2G (5 hrs on 3G) and up to 300 hrs of stand-by time on 2G network.
Price and Availability
The Dell Venue smartphone is expected to go on sale in India in third week of January 2011 but there is no news about its price as yet.
