GIGABYTE today announced its upport for USB Attached SCSI Protocol (UASP) on their entire range of GIGABYTE USB 3.0 motherboards. The UASP SCSI protocol is a new protocol initiated by the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) that speeds up data throughput to SCSI devices by up to 20%, while also reducing CPU utilization, data latency and user waiting time.
The GIGABYTE’s USB 3.0 motherboards has already set the new standard in high performance computing by incorporating the very latest high-speed data transfer technologies.

The USB 3.0 host controller from NEC Electronics enables GIGABYTE USB 3.0 motherboards 10x data transfer speed boost over conventional USB 2.0 and adding to this performance boost, USB 3.0 features dual-simplex transfer for simultaneous data transfer from PC to USB device.
