HTC WildFire Smartphone Officially Launched by HTC and Reliance Communications

HTC and Reliance Communications today announced the official launch of high-end 3G ready HTC Wildfire Smartphone in India that is powered by Google Android Eclair 2.1 mobile operating system and is armed with 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM 7225 processor and it boasts of a large 3.2-inch Capacitive touch screen with pinch-to-zoom capability.

To all its GSM customers, Reliance Communications as promotional offer, is offering up to 500 MB of free data access every month for a period of first six months, and the HTC WildFire smartphone itself is available across India from HTC resellers at the attractive price of Rs. 16,590.

Announced in May, 2010, the HTC Wildfire Smartphone, boasts a unique design with a smooth, continuous surface, machined from a single aluminum block into a seamless compact frame and is powered by Android Eclair 2.1 mobile operating system and features newly enhanced HTC Sense user interface with exciting new features.

The HTC Sense user interface revolves around three fundamental principles that were developed by HTC viz. Make It Mine, Stay Close and Discover the Unexpected which continue to be the key to the new HTC Sense user interface build in HTC Legend Smartphone.

The enhanced HTC Sense introduces a new HTC application and widget called HTC Friend Stream which seamlessly integrate all of user’s social communication including Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr into one organised flow of updates, making it easier than ever to focus on what friends are doing as well as to view the images and links that they share.

The enhanced HTC Sense user interface in HTC Wildfire Smartphone also introduces broad improvements to applications including the browser, email client, IMs and others and includes a new newsreader application and widget, as well as a new seven-screen ‘Leap’ thumbnail view for quick and easy access to specific screens. HTC Wildfire phone comes with Friend Stream, that allows users to see all their friends’ Facebook updates, Tweets and Flickr photos on a single screen which updates itself automatically. In addition, when someone calls, the Caller ID in addition to displaying caller’s name name and number also is capable of displaying useful stuff like their Facebook status and birthday date etc.

The HTC Wildfire also comes loaded with another useful tool, People Widget that allows locating any group of friends straight from phone’s home screen allowing a single tap Calling, Texting or Emailing them. It also allows sending a URL/link straight from the phone to theirs.

HTC Wildfire’s UI also allows users to include whatever features they want on each of your SEVEN home screens, and arrange them just by moving finger allowing quick and lightning fast access to everything one tend to use most often. It also features News app, that allows choosing what websites or blogs one want to hear from, then have their latest news delivered right to the handset.

The HTC Wildfire Smartphone is quadband GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 and HSDPA 900/2100 Mhz network ready handset, equipped with 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM 7225 processor and is powered by Google’s latest Android v2.1 (Eclair) mobile OS. Weighing only 118 gms, the HTC Wildfire Smartphone is a little smaller in length than earlier announced android powered HTC Desire Smartphone, measuring 106.8 x 60.4 x 12 mm and includes a 5.0 Megapixel Auto Focus camera with built-in LED flash, Face Detection and Geo-tagging capability offering maximum 2592 x 1944 pixels resolution. The camera also allows video recording in 800 x 480 pixels resolution @ 24fps.

The HTC Wildfire Smartphone also offers exhaustive data connectivity options including WiFi 802.11b/g wireless LAN, GPRS class 10 up to 114 kbps downloading, EDGE class 10 upto 560 kbps downloading, Bluetooth 2.1 EDR + A2DP wireless connection with FTP and OPP file transfer capabilities, 3G HSDPA 7.2Mbps, 3G HSUPA 2.0Mbps connection and microUSB 2.0 for wired connectivity.
