MSI has today announced the launch of MSI Wind12 U250 NetBook that comes equipped with 10.1-inch display, featuring AMD 2010 ultrathin platform “Nile” with AMD Athlon II Neo duo core (Geneva) processor K325, has MSI’s unique Chiclet keyboard, a seamless touchpad and provides 5.55 hours of battery run-time.
The MSI Wind12 U250 boasts under the hood the most advanced mobile computing architecture on the market. It features AMD 2010 ultrathin platform – “Nile” with AMD Athlon II Neo duo core (Geneva) processor which supports DDR3 @800 MHz memory.
According to MSI the U250 is highly mobile like netbooks, but still offers a 12.1″ screen as against 12.1-inch display in conventional netbook PCs and features power-saving duo core architecture, so it performs on par with conventional laptops. The cover and the areas in front of the keyboard of the stylishly high tech Wind12 U250 feature MSI’s own lustrous Cobra Gray color film print to both protect against scratches and wear.
The MSI U250 netbook also comes with MSI’s own EDS (Ergonomic De-Stress) keyboard with keys that are 51% larger in area, a wider keyboard, and keys shaped for comfort. This innovative ergonomic keyboard makes typing faster and more comfortable and effectively reduces stress on fingers and wrists.
Weighing just over 1.3kg, the MSI Wind12 U250 notebook is as portable as a netbook, but the third generation AMD 2010 ultrathin platform – “Nile” with duo core processor boosts performance by 20% over the previous generation of NBs and supports HD high-resolution video output.
The MSI U250 Wind12 netbook is equipped with AMD’s latest RS880M chipset that support HD graphics as well as UVD2 and DirectX 10.1 technologies which work together with the cinema-class 16:9 ratio LED backlit display with HD Ready 1366×768 resolution to optimize high definition viewing experience with more realistic images and rich, crisp colors.
The new MSI U250 Wind12 Netbook comes with 3-cells battery packs with option of 6-cell battery pack and is powered by 1.3 GHz AMD Dual Core Athlon II Neo K325 Processor with AMD RS880M chipset mainboard and includes Up to 8-GB DDR3 @800 MHz SDRAM and a 320-GB 2.5-inch SATA hard drive (option for 160GB and 250GB).
The sleek and slim MSI U250 Wind12 netbook also includes a uniquely designed flush touchpad which can only be distinguished from the palm rest area below keyboard by small raised dots, providing a unique touchpad experience.
The MSI Wind12 U250 comes equipped with 12.1 inch WSVGA LED display offering maximum screen resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels in 16:9 aspect ratio which is powered by ATI Radeon HD 4225 discrete graphics with 512-MB dedicated video memory. It also features MSI’s distinctive Chiclet keyboard which produce less keyboard noise and prevents the inadvertent pressing of other keys.
Equipped with SRS Premium Sound, the MSI U250 Wind12 delivers realistic and rich audiovisual experience and it comes with 1.3 MP webcam, 2x USB v2.o ports, an eSATA/USB combo port, WiFi 802.11/b/g/N(draft), Bluetooth V2.0 EDR, and supports 3.5G (Enhanced Third Generation) mobile communications. It also has a internal 4-in-1 SD/MMC memory card reader supporting XD/SD/MMC/Memory Stick cards, D-sub VGA port, Headphone and Mic in ports.
Measuring 29.7cm x 19.0cm x 2.4-3.1cm, and loaded with Windows 7 Starter edition, the MSI U250 Wind12 netbook can provide upto 5.5 hours of extended power backup using combination of MSI’s exclusive 3D Boost and ECO Engine energy saving technology on Intel’s CULV platform.
Available in two colors, viz. Fancy Gold and Jet Black, the MSI Wind12 U250 features MSI-developed “ECO” energy-saving technology allowing users to switch between five different power usage modes: gaming, film viewing, presentation, word processing, and Turbo Battery. This feature helps to increase battery run-time to upto 15 hours, enabling users to keep working all day without needing to worry about the battery running down.
The new MSI U250 Wind12 Netbook would be available in July 2010. MSI has not declared its price and availability in India market as yet but its safe to assume that it would come in range of Rs. 23,000 and Rs. 24,500. Visit www.msi.com for more details.
