HTC HD Mini Launched, Powered by Windows Mobile 6.5.3

HTC has finally launched in India its new HTC HD Mini Smartphone that is powered by Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system and features 3.2-inch 320 x 480 pixels Capacitive touchscreen and enhanced HTC Sense user interface that includes a new newsreader application and widget.

Announced in Feb 2010, the new HTC HD Mini Smartphone boasts a unique design with a smooth, continuous surface, seamless compact frame and is powered by Windows Mobile 6.5.3 Professional operating system offering Pocket Office support  (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, PDF viewer) and features newly enhanced HTC Sense user interface with exciting new features. There is support for multiple email accounts and push email on the phone.

The integration of enhanced HTC Sense and Windows Mobile OS on HD mini is aimed to provide customers an additional choice for an advanced Windows mobile phone that is sleek, well crafted and easy to use. The handset is equipped with Proximity sensor, Accelerometer for auto-rotate, Pick-to- mute and Digital Compass.

The HTC Sense user interface revolves around three fundamental principles that were developed by HTC viz. Make It Mine, Stay Close and Discover the Unexpected which continue to be the key to the new HTC Sense user interface build in HTC Legend Smartphone.

The enhanced HTC Sense introduces a new HTC application and widget called HTC Friend Stream which seamlessly integrate all of user’s social communication including Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr into one organised flow of updates, making it easier than ever to focus on what friends are doing as well as to view the images and links that they share.

The enhanced HTC Sense user interface also introduces broad improvements to applications including the browser, email client, IMs and others and includes a new newsreader application and widget, as well as a new seven-screen ‘Leap’ thumbnail view for quick and easy access to specific screens.

Priced at Rs. 23,490, the HTC HD Mini Smartphone is Quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and 3G HSDPA 900/2100 network ready handset that is equipped with 600 MHz Qualcomm MSN 7227 Processor and it comes with 512-MB ROM and 384-MB RAM internal memory with microSD card support of upto 32-GB expandable memory.

The HTC HD Mini handset features a 3.2 inch, 320 x 480 pixels 16M color capable AMOLED HVGA hi-resolution LED backlit display with multi-touch support.  In addition, a brand new optical joystick, surrounded by a narrow button replaces the traditional trackball improving usability without interrupting its unique design.

Weighing only 110 gms, the HTC HD Mini Smartphone measures 103.8 x 57.7 x 11.7 mm and also sports a single 5.0 Megapixel camera with built-in LED flash offering 2592 x 1944 pixel still picture resolution, Geo-tagging, and video recording capability in VGA resolution @ 30fps.

3G network ready HTC HD Mini Smartphone offers exhaustive data connectivity options including GPRS class 10, EDGE class 10, 3G HSDPA 7.2 Mbps connection, 3G HSUPA 2.0 Mbps connection in addition to WiFi 802.11b/g wireless LAN cum router and Bluetooth 2.1 + A2DP wireless connectivity with FTP and OPP transfer capabilities.

In addition, HTC HD Mini sports microUSB 2.0 port for wired connectivity and includes internal GPS receiver with A-GPS support, Stereo FM radio with RDS and a 3.5mm audio headphone jack allowing users plug-in their choice of standard headphone.

Other features of HTC HD Mini Smartphone includes dedicated search key, audio media player supporting MP3, eAAC+, WAV files, video player supporting MP4, H.263, H.264, 3GP and DivX video files, and applications includes Facebook, Twitter, HTC Peep, HTC Footprints, YouTube Client, Organizer, Voice Memo, and Pocket Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, PDF viewer).

The handset also offers a native client application for Flickr service, that allows users to instantly upload images straight to the Flickr service from the phone, without having to transfer them to a PC first. Thats cool.

The HTC HD Mini Smartphone comes with powerful 1200 mAh Li-Ion battery that can provide upto 7 hours of talk time in 2G (6 hrs in 3G) network and 340 hours of stand-by time (2G) and is already available in India for Rs. 23,490 with one year warranty.
