MSI has officially announced the launch of MSI Wind U160 NetBook in India that comes equipped with 10.1-inch display uses Intel’s Pine Trail processor platform, has MSI’s unique Chiclet keyboard, a seamless touchpad and provides 15-hours of extended battery run-time.
The MSI’s latest Wind U160 Netbook boasts of winning prestigious 2010 iF product design award and is only second model from MSI netbook range which is based on Pine Tail processor platform. In addition, the new netbook is also equipped with facial recognition software viz. EasyFace that help enhanced secured access to the system and data.
Weighing just 1Kg, the MSI Wind U160 Netbook comes with 3-cells battery packs with option of 6-cell battery pack and is powered by 1.66 GHz Intel ATOM N450 Processor (512-KB L2 Cache and 667 MHz FSB) with Intel NM10 Express Chipset and features 2-GB DDR2 (667 MHz) SDRAM, and a 320-GB 2.5-inch SATA hard drive.
The sleek and slim MSI Wind U160 t includes a uniquely designed flush touchpad which can only be distinguished from the palm rest area below keyboard by small raised dots, providing a unique touchpad experience.
The MSI Wind U160 comes equipped with 10.1 inch WSVGA LED display offering maximum screen resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels which is powered by integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator GMA 3150 graphics with 512-MB shared video memory. It also features MSI’s distinctive Chiclet keyboard which produce less keyboard noise and prevents the inadvertent pressing of other keys.
Equipped with SRS Premium Sound, the MSI Wind U160 laptop delivers realistic and rich audiovisual experience and it comes with 1.3 MP webcam, 2x USB 2.o ports, an eSATA/USB combo port, WiFi 802.11/b/g/N(draft), Bluetooth V2.0 EDR, and supports 3.5G (Enhanced Third Generation) mobile communications. It also has a internal 2-in-1 SD/MMC memory card reader, D-sub VGA port, Headphone and Mic in ports.
Measuring 265 x 165 x 24-25.4 mm, and loaded with Windows 7 Starter edition, the MSI Wind U160 can provide upto 11 hours of extended power backup using combination of MSI’s exclusive 3D Boost and ECO Engine energy saving technology on Intel’s CULV platform.
Available in two colors, viz. Fancy Gold and Jet Black, the MSI Wind U160 features MSI-developed “ECO” energy-saving technology allowing users to switch between five different power usage modes: gaming, film viewing, presentation, word processing, and Turbo Battery. This feature helps to increase battery run-time to upto 15 hours, enabling users to keep working all day without needing to worry about the battery running down.
