With Microsoft Windows CE 6.0 real-time operating system, the new DataWind UbiSurfer boots-up in ten seconds and it provides familiar experience of Windows on a PC environment. Windows CE is a pre-emptive real-time operating system developed by Microsoft for minimalistic ultra-portable devices and embedded systems that have minimal storage and RAM that is supported on several processors including Intel x86 family, MIPS, ARM and Hitachi SuperH.
The UbiSurfer mobile internet access device is powered by ARM based processor (generally found in mobile phones) and it comes equipped with 7-inch WVGA 800 x 480 pixels resolution display and features only 128-MB internal RAM, 1-GB flash memory for storage and comes with 50-GB of online cloud storage option.
