LG Launches Budget-Priced LG GW300 QWERTY Phone

LG has announced the release of its new LG GW300 mobile phone, that is a budget-priced candybar style GSM handset that features full QWERTY keypad and includes LG’s unique peer management application, LiveSquare which allows keeping track of most frequent contacts in a dynamic and interactive graphical interface.


Originally launched in October 2009 in US and Europe markets, the all new Candybar form-factor LG GW300 phone is designed to delivers all the essentials in communication, multimedia and entertainment in a compact form and the handset features front-facing full QWERTY keyboard allowing faster and easier text typing.

Beholding Karbonn K10 mobile kind of looks, the new LG GW300 boasts LG’s unique peer management application, LiveSquare that allows keeping track of most frequent contacts in a dynamic and interactive graphical interface. With LiveSquare all your favorite contacts shows up on home screen as avatars, and associated avatar now prompts when any message is received from that contact.

In addition, it also offers threaded SMS feature that allows collating all messages in threads on one conversation screen.

The LG GW300 also boast of a several social networking features that includes a easy SNS usability which brings Facebook to mobile screen , besides supporting Twitter, Flickr and many other top social networking websites.

The new LG GW300 QWERTY phone is a bar type quadband GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz network  ready handset that features a 2.4-inch, 256K colors, 320 x 240 pixels resolution QVGA TFT display which allows better enjoy watching videos, playing games, and looking at photos and larger icons are easier to navigate than smaller ones and features front-facing full QWERTY keypad.

Only 12.8 mm thick, LG GW300 phone weighs 95 gms comes with 10-MB internal memory and features microSD Memory Card Slot for expanded memory with maximum of 4-GB storage (or 16-GB?) space. The handset allows 1000 entries phonebook, SMS and MMS memory and allows SMS, MMS, Email client, and IM client.


MP3 Media Player: The LG GW300 phone sports an advanced integrated MP3 media player which supports AAC, AAC+, AAC+ Enhanced, MP3, Midi, AMR, MPEG4, H.263, WMA Audio formats. In addition, users can use compatible wireless bluetooth headphones with the phone using its integrated bluetooth +A2DP connectivity. The handset also sports 3.5mm audio out.

Digital Camera: LG GW300 phone also features 2.0 Megapixel resolution fixed focus digital camera with maximum of 1600 x 1200 pixels resolution having Schneider-Kreuznach optics allowing 4X Digital Zoom, Multi-shot and Night Mode. The digital camera also allows continuous video recording (and playback) in MP4 / 3GP formats in QVGA resolution in 15 fps.

Connectivity: The LG GW300 smartphone offers several connectivity options includeing GPRS class 12 connection, EDGE Class 12, Bluetooth v2.1 + A2DP wireless connection, and WAP 2.0, xHTML browser and USB v2.0/v1.2 port support. The phone supports polyphonic 64 channels ringtones supporting MP3, AAC+, AAC+ Enhacned, MIDI, and SMAF audio formats.

FM Radio with Recording: LG GW300 phone also sports integrated FM radio with autoscan for upto 9 station presets in 12 groups for faster and easier access. The FM radio also offers live or scheduled recording which can be saved and also used as ringtones. The FM radio can also be played on Speakerphone.

Other features of LG GW300 includes JAVA MIDP 2.0 support, video player, video caller ID, built-in speaker and In-flight mode, organizer, video player, voice memo and a unique Anti-theft Mobile Tracker which can help trace the handset if stolen.

Already available across India in Black color, the LG GW300 phone comes with 900 mAh Li-Po battery that can provide upto 5 hours of talk time and 400 hours of stand-by time and is priced for Rs.5,289 with one year warranty.
