BlackBerry Bold 9700 Phone Launched, Offers: 3G, WiFi and Built-in GPS

The new Blackberry Bold 9700 smartphone has been launched by RIM in India that featuers a large 2.44-inch, and a full QWERTY keyboard andthe smartphone packs a wide range of communication and multimedia features.


Starting today, the BlackBerry Bold 9700 is available for Rs. 31,990 from leading retail stores as well as from operators including Airtel, Vodaphone, Aircel, MTNL, BSNL, BPL/Loop Mobile, Idea Cellular, Reliance, and Tata mobile etc.

The quad-band GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz network ready Blackberry Bold 9700 smartphone sports a stylish design has 2.44-inch 320 x 480 pixels 65K color capable TFT scratch resistant display.

The smartphone is equipped with all new touch-sensitive trackpad instead of traditional trackball and it comes with a full HTML web browser and several social networking appls for Facebook, Myspace, and Flickr.

Since new touchpad involves no moving parts, it should be more robust and expected to last long.

The trackpad employs all the same gestures as the conventional trackball, besides feels similar to using a trackpad on a laptop. To select an option, one can click the pad just like one would with the conventional trackball.

The Blackberry Bold 9700 features 35 key backlit full QWERTY keyboard in addition to several dedicated keys for functions like Send, End, VAD/PTT (User customizable), Camera (User customizable), and 2 x volume. The handset also sports dedicated Media Keys which includes functions like Play/Pause/Mute, Back, and Forward.

Equipped with a 624 MHz processor, Blackberry Curve 9700 phone is powered by BlackBerry’s own Blackberry 5.0 Operating system and it comes with 256 MB shared internal flash memory and it has microSD memory slot supporting up to 32 GB maximum memory storage..

BlackBerry Bold 9700 sports three dedicated music and multimedia atop the smartphone allowing skip over songs, pause music to talk, or repeat favorites over and over options in addition to enabling mute phone calls with the easy-access mute button.

The handset offers simple and straightforward email and IM setup and it supports Windows Hotmail/Live, AOL, Gmail, Yahoo, ICQ and Blackberry messenger.
