Lenovo Launched ThinkPad Edge Laptop Powered by AMD Turion X2 Processor

Lenovo has today launched its new ultra-portable ThinkPad Edge Series laptop, primarily aimed at the SMBs  in India, featuring 13.3, 14.1 and 15.4 inches widescreen displays to suit the small business users who require laptops with light-weight, sleek, professional designs, and reliable computing tools that fits their budget.

The new Lenovo ThinkPad Edge series laptops boasts of a new curvy design with wast choice of attractive color options, and feature multi-touch pad and chiclet-style, spill-resistant rounded keyboard besides offering Active Protection System and Rescue and Recovery.

To be the first ever Lenovo ThinkPad Edge laptop offering a choice of color, The Lenovo ThinkPad Edge series of laptops will be available in matte black, glossy black and heat-wave red colors, and one featuring 14.1 and 15.4 inch displays are powered by AMD Turion X2 processor and comes with Windows 7 pre-installed.  Another ultra-portable ThinkPad Edge model with 13.3-inch screen is powered by 1.3 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 processor that utilizes an ultra-low-voltage sacrificing performance for battery life.

The ThinkPad Edge system comes equipped with 4GB of DDR3-1066 RAM and a 500 GB SATA @ 7200 rpm hard drive and can provide upto 7.8 hours of battery backup. It also features WiFi 802.11 b/g/N support, built-in 3G mobile broadband functionality with GPS, WiMAX connection support and comes with built-in low-light-sensitive webcam, 3x USB v2.0 ports, a eSATA/USB power port, 5-in-1 memory card reader and HDMI 1.3 digital out port.

Effectively replacig Lenovo’s earlier SL Series of laptops, the new ThinkPad Edge series laptops also offers features like Active Protection System and Rescue and Recovery and are available for the starting price of Rs. 34,000.
