Asus U6V Bamboo Series Notebook Launched
ASUS has announced the launch of a eco-friendly ASUS U6V Bamboo ultra thin and light notebook in India that is made with Eco-friendly material on the LCD cover and palm rest. The touch pad in U6V notebook also has bamboo fiber patterns on top of it, making it feel like scrolling and pointing on a bamboo surface.
Eco-friendly, ultra Thin and light Asus U6V Bamboo series notebook weighs about 1.57 Kgs and is RoHS and WEEE standard compliant. The notebook is powered by low power consuming 2.40 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor P8600 and it features Intel Mobile PM45 Chipset mainboard @ 800 MHz FSB, 2-MB L2 Cache, 4-GB DDR2 RAM, 320 GB 5400 rpm SATA hard drive and DVD Super Multi optical drive.
Asus U6V Bamboo also features a built-in 1.3 megapixel webcam, a Fingerprint reader for enhanced security and HDMI digital out port. In addition, Asus U6V also sports the Asus SmartLogon feature that intelligently recognizes its rightful owner and grants access with positive facial scan.
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium powered Asus U6V Bamboo series noteBook is equipped with 12.1-inch (30.7 cm) WSVGA TFT display powered by integrated NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS Graphics Chipset with 256 DDR2 Video Memory capable of maximum resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. The Nvidia GeForce 9300M GS graphics chip that has 16 stream processors with a core clocked at 400MHz.
The NVIDIA GeForce 9300M graphics chip has 256MB video memory clocked at 600MHz and uses the 64-bit memory interface. This chip also features a TAG RAM of up to 1536MB depending on system memory.
The screen forms the middle portion of the display frame and is flanked on the sides by stereo speakers. Just above this is an integrated 1.3 Megapixel webcam, placed in the bezel above the LCD.
On the left side of the notebook there is an e-SATA port and two USB v2.0 ports along with an HDMI Digital Outut and an express card slot. On the right side of the unit there is another USB slot as well as audio jacks and the built-in card reader along with the optical drive. The Ethernet LAN, Modem and VGA output jacks are located on the back side of the Asus U6V notebook.

In addition, Asus U6V Bamboo series notebook also offers integrated 10/100 Mbit Ethernet LAN connection, an integrated 56kbps Modem/Fax connection and sports 3 USB v2.0 ports for wired connectivity.
