LG KS20 Smart PDA Phone
LG has launched LG KS20 Smart/PDA Phone which is a triband GSM and 3G network ready mobile phone featuring a large 2.8-inch 256K colors display, GPRS, 3G HSDPA, EDGE, WiFi 802.11b/g, 2.0 MP digital camera, powerful MP3 and media player, integrated FM Radio with recording facility, memory expansion card slot and option for Hindi language in SMS and system menu.
The new LG KS20 smart phone is powered by 400 MHz Qualcomm MSM7200 processor and it is a triband GSM 900 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900 MHz network and 3G HSDPA 3.6 Mbps ready handset which featrues 2.8-inch, 256K colors, 240 x 320 pixels resolution QVGA display which sports full flat Touchscreen with Handwriting recognition.
Just about 12.8mm thick, the new LG KS20 is perhaps the slimmest Windows Mobile 6.0 powered smart PDA phone with the full flat touchscreen available in market today.
LG KS20 smart phone’s display technology also offers easy screen size adjustment and horizontal or vertical rotation of the screen depending on hand movement. The screen can work in either landscape or portrait modes and rotates automatically. In addition, there is also a light sensor that allows adjusting the brightness according the ambient lighting conditions.
Only 12.8 mm thick LG KS20 phone is equipped with 150-MB of internal shared memory of which only 40-MB is free for use along with sporting microSD Memory Card Slot for expanded memory with maximum of 2-GB storage space. The handset allows upto 1000 entries phonebook, 500 SMS ans 100 MMS memory along with 40 dialed, 40 received, 40 missed calls records.
The contact book allows Name, Mobile, Home, Company name, Email address, Office number, Fax number, Birthday, Associate Picture, and Associate Video per contact.
Digital Camera
The multimedia LG KS20 smart phone also features powerful 2.0 Megapixels resolution digital camera with maximum of 1600 x 1200 pixels resolution allowing 4X Digital Zoom, Multi Shot (1,3,6,9) and Autofocus functions, self timer (5,10,15 seconds), Brightness Adjustment, White Balance, and built-in flash. Other still image captured resolution include 320X240, 640X480, 1024 x 768, and 1600 x 1200 pixels.
The multi shot function of LG KS20 mobile phone allows upto 9 shot, 6 shot, 3 shot, or 1 shot. Predefined Scene modes include Auto, Daylight, Cloudy, illuminated / indoors, Portrait, Landscape, Night, Beach, Sports, and Party etc and digital camera offers many picture effects such as Black & White, Negative, and Sepia.
The digital camera also offers options for timer shooting, manual/auto focus, Macro shooting, Red Eye detection and reduction, etc and several software applications are available for picture editing and movie making.
The digital camera in LG KS20 also allows continuous video recording (and playback) with 128 x 96 pixels, 176 x 144 pixels and 320 x 240 pixels resolution, supporting MP4, and 3GP formats, Flash, White Balance presets, Color effects presets.
The Video playback allows several standard video file types including H.264, WMA, MPEG4, WMV, and AVI.
IN addition, LS KS20 smart phone also sports a secondary VGA camera with 320 x 240 and true VGA 640 x 480 pixels resolution for video calling.
The LG KS20 mobile phone also offers integrated MP3 media player which supports AAC, AAC+, AAC+ Enhanced, MP3, Midi, AMR, MPEG4, H.263, WMA Audio formats.
LG has bundled an adapter with the handset which allows one to plug in any standard 3.5mm stereo audio headsets gibing more freedom.
Connectivity
The LG KS20 smart phone offers plentiful connectivity features which includes GPRS class 10 connection, EDGE Class 10, 236.8 kbps connection, 3G HSDPA 3.6 Mbps connection for high speed data transfer over 3G enabled mobile networks, WiFi 802.11b/g wireless LAN connection for WiFi hotspots, Bluetooth v2.0 + A2DP wireless connection for streaming music to compatible pair of wireless headphones or speakers, WAP 2.0, xHTML browser and USB v2.0/v1.2 port support. The phone supports polyphonic 72 channels ringtones supporting MP3, AAC+,AAC++, MIDI, and SMAF audio formats.
FM Radio with Recording
3G network ready new LG KS20 smart phone also sports integrated FM radio which offers live or scheduled recording which can be saved and also used as ringtones. In addition it also allows FM alarm feature which switches to preset FM station on schedule. The FM radio can also be played on Speakerphone.
Anti-theft Mobile Tracker
The LG KS20 mobile handset also sports a unique Anti-theft Mobile Tracker which can help trace the handset if stolen. Here is how you can setup this feature in this handset:
1. Locate mobile tracker option under Tools menu
2. Enter default password 0000 and press OK
3. Go to option 1 and select on
4. Change your password immediately
5. Go to option 3 and select New
6. Enter you name and two alternate mobile numbers
If by chance, LG KS20 mobile phone handset gets stolen and the SIM is removed after having activated a new SIM card in the same handset, the two alternate mobile numbers a user had entered while setting up the anti-theft feature would automatically receive the SMS informing about the new SIM number and the location of the theft. This info can be used for filing your police complain.
The LG KS20 smart phone comes with several applications including Agenda, Alarm Clock, Calculator, Clock, To-do-list, and Voice Memo. Some of the utilities included are Data Wallet, Google Maps, Rocke Talk, and NDTV Active.
Microsoft windows mobile 6.0 professional powered LG KS20 phone allows SMS, EMS, MMS Email and Push Email features and comes with MSN Messangar and Outlook Express applications for chat and email client.
