ASUS U6S Notebook PC
Asus has launched in India its new Asus U6S series premium notebook PC which is powered by Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7500 and it features 12.1-inch WXGA display, 802.11b/g, a/b/g Wireless LAN, integrated Bluetooth v2.0, 8-in-1 card reader and is claimed to be completely eco-friendly having all its parts produced to strictly comply with RoHS regulations Directive.
The Asus U6S series notebook PC are powered by 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7500 with 4-MB L2 Cache, 800 MHz FSB and it features Intel 965PM chipset Motherboard, 2-GB DDR II 533 RAM (max up to 2 GB), a 160-GB SATA 5400 rpm hard disk drive and 24x DVD SuperMulti Dual Layer (8.5 GB) DVD Writer.
Weighing about 1.43 kgs, the new Asus U6S notebook PC has 12.1-inch XGA ColorShine LCD Display powered by integrated NVIDIA GeForce 9300GS graphics chipset with 256MB dedicated Vedio RAM allowing maximum screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels in 16 Million colors.
The Asus U6S notebook PCs offers integrated 56 kbps v.92 Azalia MDC Fax/ Modem, integrated 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet LAN Adapter, 802.11a/b/g/n Wireless LAN connection, 4 USB ports, Express card slot, PCMCIA slot and built-in stereo speakers and a microphone.
The Asus U6S notebook also supports Bluetooth V2.0 +EDR (Enhanced Data Rate), which allows omni-directional wireless connection enabling a high data transfer rate of upto 2.1 Mbps which is 3 times faster than standard Bluetooth v2.0.
Asus U6S notebook PC also features built-in microphone, built-in 8-in-1 digital card reader supporting SD, MMC, MS, MS Pro, XD, Mini SD, MS Duo, and MS Pro Duo via adapter memory cards, 4 USB v2.0 ports, and IEEE 1394 Interface for high speed communication between two devices like trandferring images without any quality degradation from a stand alone camera or camcorder to a PC. It also features HDMI port.
The Asus U6S notebook also offers support for 3 types of batetry packs viz. 27 Whr battery pack, 2400mAh (3 cell), 54 WHr battery pack, 4800 mAh (6 cell) and 80 WHr battery pack, 7200mAh (9 cell).
Optionally the Asus U6S series notebook PCs are also available with TPM security system which ensures that the information stored there is made more secure from external software attack and physical theft. Security processes, such as digital signature and key exchange, are protected through the secure system. Critical applications and capabilities such as secure email, secure web access and local protection of data are thereby made much more secure. Therefore, users can enjoy sending and receiving secure e-mails, encrypting files and folders, and secure network connections.
Asus U6S notebook PC comes with Genuine Windows Vista Business OS preinstalled and bundled software includes ASUSDVD V7, Power Director V5.0, Medi@Show V3, Norton Internet Security 2008, NERO Express V 7., Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.0.
Software utilities bundled with notebook includes: Asus Win flash for BIOS and Driver live Update, ASUS CopyProtect, ASUS SmartLogon, ASUS Net 4 switch, Asus Live Update, Asus Multi-Frame, Power 4 Phone, Asus NB Probe, ASUS Life Frame III, ASUS Wireless Console, and ASUS Security Protect Manager(ASPM).
