Lenovo’s new Y-Series Notebook PC in India, the Lenovo 3000 Y410 77578BQ notebook PC is powered by Intel Pentium Dual-Core Processor T2370 and it features 14.1-inch display, integrated biometric face recognition technology for enhances data security, integrated Bluetoth v2.0+EDR wireless connection, 4-in-1 media card reader, integrated 1.3 megapixel camera, Dolby Home Theater system, and integrated Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g connection.
Powered by 1.73 GHz, Intel Pentium Dual-Core Processor T2370, the Lenovo Y410 notebook features 533 Mhz FSB, 1-MB L2 Cache with Intel 965GM Chipset Motherboard.
Weighing 2.35 Kgs without power pack, the new Lenovo Y410 notebook offers 1-GB DDR2 (533 MHz) (Max 2-GB in 2 DIMM slots), 160 GB Serial-ATA 5400 rpm 2.5 inch harddisk, and Slot-in Super multi drive 6x DVD Writer with double layer recording (8.5 GB).
The Lenovo 3000 Y410 notebook comes with freeDOS and it also features integrated 1.3 megapixel digital camera at top of display, built-in microphone, built-in 4-in-1 Memory card reader supporting SD, MMC, MS, MS Pro memory cards, 3 USB v2.0 ports, and IEEE1394 Interface for high speed communication between two devices like trandferring images without any quality degradation from a stand alone camera or camcorder to a PC.
The 3000 Lenovo Y410 notebook is equipped with 14.1-inch (35.8 cm) wide screen Transflective TFT WXGA display powered by Intel Graphics Media Accelerator GMA 950 graphics with 256 MB RAM that offers native resolution of 1280 x 800 in widescreen 16:10 aspect ratio in 16M colors. The graphics chipset supports Direct x 9.0 acceleration, Dual independent display option, Dynamic Display Detect, and Open GL 1.4.
Lenovo Y410 notebook offers integrated Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g wireless LAN connection along with Bluetooth v2.0+EDR wireless data connection for enhanced wireless connectivity. In addition, it also sports integrated 10/100 Ethernet Network Card and 56kbps v.92 Modem/Fax card.
In addition, the Lenovo Y410 notebook PC also features integrated Dolby Home Theater system and is equipped with two stereo speakers system with Sub woofers which deliver high quality audio playback.
The notebook also offers AUDIO DJ feature that allows the user to play music CDs (DVD/MP3) while the notebook is turned off.
The Shuttle Center system in Lenovo Y410 notebooks is an audio and video entertainment platform which allows easy navigation between menus without a mouse. It allows easy access to music and video files, with discrete playback controls makes it as easy to listen to your tunes as well as peek at your movies.
In addition, the integrated Touch Pad features a wider touch pad area which provides two modes to avoid the incident touching of Touch Pad when using a mouse.
Biometric Face Recognition Technology
The Biometric Face Recognition feature available in Lenovo Y410 notebook PCs is a specialize software (from Veriface software) which takes a digital snapshot of the user’s face to create a unique password by digital mapping of key features of the user’s face.
The face recognition technology recognizes multiple users and logs on to the Windows operating system and other applications without requiring users to remember and type a single password. In the event of an unauthorized attempt, the notebook photographs the user and stores the image in a log for verification.
Biometric face recognition technology enabled Lenovo 3000 Y410 notebook also offers Lenovo’s own One-Touch-System-Recovery feature and it comes with various software preinstalled such as Shuttle Centre, Power 2 GO, Veriface, Easy Capture 2.5, IGRS Anywhere and Norton 2006 antivirus software.
Notebook also allows a unique one-touch-recovery option allows users to recover a PC to its last backed-up state with the press of a button in an event of system crash or system hang.
