The new HP Compaq 8510p is a ultra-light professional level business notebook PC from HP which is powered by 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7500 and it features 15.1-inch WXGA TFT display, Wireless 802.11 Wi-Fi LAN connection, integrated Bluetooth connection, Fingerprint sensor and 8X double layer (8.5 GB) DVD writer drive.

The p at the end of the model number of the notebook stands for ‘Professional’ series and HP has several new series of notebook with different suffixes such as ’s’ for standard series, ‘b’ for business series, and ‘w’ for workstation series.
HP Compaq 8510p business notebook sports 15.4-inch (39.1 cm) WXGA Widescreen LED Backlit WXGA Widescreen anti-glare display capable of 1280 x 800 pixels resolution in 16:10 Aspect Ratio powered by ATI Mobile Radeon HD2600 Graphics Chipset, with up to 256 MB dedicated memory supporting Microsoft DirectX 9 technology.
The Wi-Fi ready HP Compaq 8510p business notebook PC is equipped with integrated Intel PRO/Wireless 802.11a/b/g and Bluetooth v2.0 for wireless connection while it sports 10/100/1000 Ethernet LAN, 56 kbps V.90 modem and 2 USB v2.0 for wired connections.
The HP Compaq 8510p professional business notebook also supports a 5-in-1 multi-format memory card reader embedded in the notebook allowing xD, Secure Digital cards, MultiMedia cards, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro media cards and has Altec Lansing Stereo Speakers built-in.
Its easy to transfer photos from a digital camera to the HP Compaq 8510p via the 5-in-1 digital media card reader, then use Photosmart Premier software to edit, print, organise, share, and archive all the photographs. One can turn pictures into movies, edit video, and create CDs and DVDs using applications bundled in the laptop.
HP Compaq 8510p notebook also offers various security management measures such as HP ProtectTools Security Manager, HP Fingerprint Sensor, Configuration Control Hardware, Memory Change Alert, BIOS Setup Password, Power-On Password, TPM 1.2 Embedded Security Chip, TPM Enhanced DriveLock, HP Disk Sanitizer, HP 3D DriveGuard, and a standard Kensington Lock.

The HP Compaq 8510p notebook PC also includes a next-generation ExpressCard 34 card slot which lets one take advantage of thinner, faster, and lighter expansion cards for even more advanced wireless, networking, storage, and security features.
HP Compaq 8510p notebook PC sports a unique touch sensitive button instead of regular push buttons for many controls. There are five quick launch touch sensitive buttons which allows disabling of the touchpad, volume mute, turning on/off wireless, launching a presentation software manager, and launching an HP software utility. The touch sensitive volume control allows volume up and down by simply sliding your finger up or down to control volume.
