ASUS had launched ASUS W5Fe notebook which is powered by 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7200 and it features 12.1 inch widescreen WXGA display along, Wi-Fi connection, built-in Bluetooth and a unique auxilary display on front side for slideshow presentations.
The revolutionary ASUS W5Fe notebook PC is powered by Intel Centrino Duo Mobile 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7200, with 4-MB L2 cache and 667 MHz FSB build using Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset mainboard.
ASUS W5Fe notebook features 1536 MB (1.5-GB) of DDR2 SDRAM at 667 MHz, 160 GB Serial-ATA hard disk (5400 rpm), 8x DVD Super Multi Double Layer DVD Writer Drive.
Weighing just 1.7 Kgs, the ASUS W5Fe notebook PC sports 12.1-inch WXGA Color Shine & Crystal Shine LCD with ASUS Splendid Video Intelligence Technology using Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 graphics chipset.
Auxilary SlideShow Display
ASUS W5Fe notebooks PC is also equipped with an unique - world’s first - 2.8 inch 320 x 240 pixels wide external ‘SlideShow’ display on the cover which is an independent operating system allowing it to be switched on without having to booting up the whole system.
Auxilary SlideShow in ASUS W5Fe notebook PC is equipped with 1-GB dedicated NAND flash memory allowing users to save selected data to SideShow, in forms of text, image and audio, for later review.
The external SlideShow display system in ASUS W5Fe notebook is well synchronized with the main Windows Vista operating system that allows users to automatically update outlook events (emails, calendar and meeting appointments) update when the main system is powered on for swift refresh to ensure data consistency.
The ASUS W5Fe notebook’s auxiliary display system is a short cut to viewing a wide range of information, including meeting schedules, phone numbers, addresses, and recent e-mail messages. The SlideShow display can be used to view photos, play music and games such as Solitaire game in addition to allowing mobile navigation application which guides the way with map display.
Windows Vista itself features Sideshow Gadgets which are designed to make themselves available to the ASUS W5Fe notebook’s Sideshow screen. Windows Vista by default offers only email via Windows Mail and music via Windows Media Player gadgets but more gadgets can be downloaded and installed from Microsoft website.
Other features of ASUS W5Fe notebook PC includes integrated Ethernet LAN card, 56 kbps v.92 Fax/Modem card, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, 3 USB v2.0 high speed ports, a TV-Out, a Express Card, and an 8in1 card-reader.
With Genuine Windows Vista Business preloaded, ASUS W5Fe notebook PC also sports a high-resolution 1.3 Megapixels swivel webcam for wire-free video communication.
