HP Pavilion TX1201AU Notebook PC

HP has introduced its new HP Pavilion TX1201AU notebook PC in India which is powered by AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core mobile processor and offers 12.1-inch touch screen display with full 180-degree swiveling, integrated webcam, and built-in biometric fingerprint recognition technology for user-friendly and enhanced data security.

Each processing core of dual-core AMD Turion 64 X2 Processor TL-56 has a 512 KB L2 cache (1-MB total), and this processor can deliver up to a 1600 MHz FSB.

The L2, or secondary cache, temporarily stores data and a larger L2 cache can help speed up your system’s performance. The FSB carries data between the CPU and RAM, and a faster front-side bus (FSB) help deliver better overall performance.

    The dual-core AMD Turion 64 X2 processor TL-56 delivers additional computing resources to help expand your PC’s capabilities by providing higher throughput and simultaneous computing which can increase performance by up to 80 percent.

    Using the AMD PowerNow! power management technology, the TX1200 series notebook PCs delivers performance on demand and can extend system battery life by up to 65 percent.

    Display Screen, Video

    The HP Pavilion TX1201AU sports 12.1-inch (30.7 cm) WXGA High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display with integrated Touch-screen technology offering upto 1280 x 800 pixels resolution powered by advanced NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 graphic chipset with 559MB of shared video memory.

    The system also features NVIDIA’s PureVideo technology which provides great picture clarity, smooth video, accurate color, and precise image scaling for video content and full support for Microsoft DirectX 9.0 for stunningly realistic cinematic effects for all DirectX-compatible applications.

    The display is capable of 180 degrees swivel and folds flat into a slate-style display like a tablet PC and delivers the same screen resolution of 1280×800 pixels as in any standard 15.4-inch notebook display.

    Audio

    HP TX1201AU notebook comes with built-in Altec Lansing speakers which provide exceptional sound. A stereo earbud headphones with volume controls is included with the package. One of the headphone jacks is also compatible with SPDIF digital audio output for home theater surround sound.

    Memory, Optical Disk

    New HP Pavilion TX1201AU notebook PC features 2-GB DDR2 SDRAM, 667 MHz (2 slots, max 4-GB), 160-MB Serial-ATA HDD (5400rpm) which help quickens the pace with a higher speed transfer of data like in case of FireWire and USB 2.0 ports.

    The TX1201AU notebook also sports a 8X Super Multi DVD Writer with Double Layer support. The multiformat DVD/CD drive is capable of burning both DVD+ and DVD- disc formats as well as dual-layer DVD+/-R optical discs allowing storage of up to 8.5 GB of data on each dual-sided DVD media. In addition the DVD writer can also burn 40x CD-R and 24x CD-RW medias.

    Security, Webcam and Microphone

    The TX1201AU notebook PC is equipped with a unique integrated biometric fingerprint recognition technology for advanced data and system security. The notebook PC also offers integrated 1.3-megapixel WebCam with two integrated omni-directional microphones providing easy video conferencing via VoIP and video IM chats.

    Networking and Connectivity

    For wireless connectivity HP Pavilion TX1201AU notebook PC comes equipped with built-in quad-band Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/N connection. Based on the draft 802.11n Wi-Fi specification, it offers up to five times the performance and twice the wireless range as existing 802.11g wireless. In addition, it is also backward compatible with 802.11b/g networks commonly found in home routers and older Wi-Fi hotspots, as well as 802.11a networks which has a higher throughput, but more limited range typical of closed office environments.

    In addition TX1201AU notebook also offers integrated Bluetooth v2.0 connection along with built-in 56kbps modem/fax card and 10/100/1000 ethernet LAN connection.

    The HP TX1201AU notebook PC also includes a next-generation ExpressCard 34 card slot which lets one take advantage of thinner, faster, and lighter expansion cards for even more advanced wireless, networking, storage, and security features.

    Operating System

    It comes preinstalled with Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium, which offers all of the Windows Media Center capabilities for turning this notebook PC into an all-in-one home entertainment center for watching DVD movies and accessing digital audio library. Windows Media Center allows recording and watching favorite TV shows (even HDTV) and to access new kinds of online entertainment content.

    Preloaded Software & Applications

    HP Pavilion TX1201AU notebook PC also offers a unique features - “capacitive touch technology” for accessing the audio, launch buttons, and volume controls. By just touching, tapping or swiping these backlit media launch buttons in a very similar manner as on a touch pad, user can have direct access to entertainment objects.

    TX1201AU Notebook comes with HP QuickPlay 2.1 application which allows users to watch DVD movies, listen to music and browse pictures without booting up and users can easily switch between movies, music and pictures with a slick, widescreen interface in the HP QuickPlay 2.1 application or with the dedicated media buttons.
