Samsung has launched its newest digital music player masterpiece, the Samsung K5 MP3 Player, which is a lightweight MP3 player offering large 1.7-inch touch screen, FM radio receiver, image viewer, alarm clock, and built-in slide-out speaker.

The Samsung K5 portable MP3 player sports a large 1.7-inch full color OLED display having 128 x 160 pixels resolution with unique touch screen keys with graphic user interface.

The MP3 player device is available in three storage models viz. YP-K5ZB with 1GB, YP-K5QB with 2GB, and YP-K5AB with 4GB internal flash storage.

The Samsung K5 comes with Samsung Media Studio application which supports MP3 (upto 320kbps) and MS-WMA (upto 192kbps) audio formats. The device also sports built-in Equalizer offering four mode of Preset EQ viz. Vocal, Bass Boost, 3D Sound, and Concert Hall, allowing one to customize the sound experience to suit the style of music.

Equipped with built-in (slide-out) speaker, Samsung K5 portable media player also features FM tuner with fast auto-tuning feature and device can automatically store upto 20 stations frequency for direct access. The device does not provide for recording from FM radio. Samsung K5 uses the headphones as an antenna for the FM tuner even when FM is being played using built-in speaker system.

The K5′s built-in stereo speakers that slide out with a gentle glide of the thumb, and they angle themselves perfectly to create a stereo system that sits comfortably on any table for all to hear.

Samsung K5 MP3 player also sports image viewing software which sports JPG/JPEG image format, USB v2.0 port for wired connectivity to PC and 3.5 mm earphone jack for headphone connection, graphical clock with alarm. The device allows setting the snooze timer to go off every 3, 5, or 10 minutes. When the alarm goes off, it starts out at low volume, and gets louder progressively.

Samsung K5 comes with Li-Polymer rechargable battery offering upto 30-hour playback time when using earphones, and uoto 6 hours when using built-in speaker. The battery supplied with the device is hard wired into the system and is not user-replacable.
