Nokia E50 Smartphone

Nokia announced Nokia E50 smartphone in October last year which is quad-band ready and sports large 2.6-inch, 256K colors TFT display , 1.3 megapixels camera, mp3 media player and micoSD memory expansion card, and range of connectivity options.

nokia e-50Based on Symbian OS 9.1, S60 3rd edition, the Nokia E50 mobile phone is Quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 Hz ready and features 2.6-inch, 256K colors, 240 x 320 pixels – 31 x 42 mm size large high-resolution TFT screen allowing more easier viewing documents, images, and Web pages.

Nokia E50 smartphone offers 70 MB internal dynamic memory with support for microSD hotswapable memory card for expanded memory.

Blackberry connectivity ready Nokia E50 also features 1.3 Megapixels digital camera with 1280 x 960 pixels resolution which also offers video capturing in standard QCIF format. In addition the smartphone has integrated MP3 media player supporting MP3 / AAC / AAC+ / eAAC+ / WMA audio formats.

Symbian OS 9.1, S60 3rd edition equipped Nokia E50 mobile phone offers GPRS Class 10, 32 – 48 kbps, high speed HSCSD, EDGE Class 10, 236.8 kbps, Bluetooth v2.0 and Infrared port for wireless connection in addition to USB v2.0 port for wired connectivity. However, there is no 3G networks support or Wi-Fi connectivity.

Nokia E50 supports variety of ringtone formats including Polyphonic (64 channels), MP3, Monophonic & True Tones ringtones and also offers Java MIDP 2.0 with downloadable support over WAP 2.0.

Nokia E50 mobile phone also offers Push email facility which supports Nokia�s Intellisync Wireless Email and Blackberry Connection.

Other features of Nokia E50 includes; Voice Mail Capability, SMS, WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML (PocketIE) Internet Browser, JAVA applications, MMS, SMS, WWW, E-Mail, MSN Messenger, WAP, Mobile Email, and Nokia team suite software with Quickoffice viewer software.

The Nokia Team Suite includes a search function that allows fast queries on contacts, emails and stored messages. Attachments received via email, such as document presentations and spreadsheets, can be easily accessed via the Quickoffice viewer software pack.

The embeded web browser in Nokia E50 allows mouse cursor for navigation, Flash and java pages and has multi-tasking capability and other software features include File manager, Search, Calculator, the Teams, Quickoffice, Notes, Converter, Message reader, Adobe PDF and Zip document viewers.

Measuring 113 x 43.5 x 15.5 mm (LWD) and weighing hust 104 gms the Nokia E50 smartphone comes with standard battery, Li-Ion 970 mAh (BL-5C) which provides upto 215 hrs of stand-by time and upto 6 hours of talk time on full charge. Optionally Extended battery, Li-Ion 1150 mAh (BL-6C) is available which can provide upto 240 hrs of standby time with upto 8 hours of talk time on full charge.
