Lenovo’s new Y-Series, the Lenovo Y500 notebook PC is powered by Intel Centrino Duo processor technology and it featuring 15.7 inch (39.1 cm) WXGA widescreen display, integrated 1.3 MP webcam, face recognition security technolofy, Dolby Home Theater system audio capabilities and 5-in-1 media card reader.

The Lenovo Y500 notebook is equipped with 15.4-inch (39.1 cm) WXGA widescreen display powered by Intel Graphics Media Accelerator GMA 950 video graphics that offers native resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels in 16:10 aspect ratio. The Shuttle Center system in notebooks is an audio and video entertainment platform which allows easy navigation between menus without a mouse. It allows easy access to music and video files, with discrete playback controls makes it as easy to listen to your tunes as well as peek at your movies.

Face Recognition

The unique face recognition feature available in both Lenovo Y300 and Y500 series notebook PCs is a specialize software (from Veriface software) which takes a digital snapshot of the user�s face to create a unique password by digital mapping of key features of the user s face.

The face recognition technology recognizes multiple users and logs on to the Windows operating system and other applications without requiring users to remember and type a single password. In the event of an unauthorized attempt, the notebook photographs the user and stores the image in a log for verification.

Lenovo Y500 notebook also offers Lenovo�s One-Touch-System-Recovery feature and it comes with various software preinstalled such as Shuttle Centre, Power 2 GO, Veriface, Easy Capture 2.5, IGRS Anywhere and Norton 2006 antivirus software.
