Microsoft To Launch Xbox 360 In India
As stated earlier , Microsoft has formally announced the launch of its next generation video gaming system, Xbox 360 for the Indian market in the pre-Diwali season this year
The Microsoft Xbox 360 gaming console will be equipped with a 20-GB detachable shockproof hard disk drive for storing music, video and games and it features a Wireless Controller, a Media Remote control and a Component HD-AV Cable for connecting to component and composite television inputs, an Ethernet cable, and batteries.
Mohit Anand, country manager, Microsoft Entertainment & Devices Division, India, said, “The timing for the launch of Xbox 360 couldn’t have been better. The Indian gaming community is currently at an inflection point and is poised to have exponential growth in the coming few years as digital experiences emerge to be a defining norm in collaborative entertainment. The Xbox 360 will serve to be a catalyst to fuel this growth and expose Indian gamers to next generation gaming experiences.”
“The new name now becomes the more appropriate tag that reflects our new approach toward customized solutions rather than merely ‘box-selling’ or hardware-selling,” he added.
Microsoft has appointed Redington for distribution for Xbox 360 in India, which has over 9000 outlets network will help Microsoft reach out to resellers and other consumer touch points across India. Redington plans to set up 15 flagship stores in seven cities, viz Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
The Microsoft Xbox 360 basic gaming system with one free game (like PS2) would be priced between Rs. 19,990 with wired control, and Rs. 23,990 with wireless control.
