Acer has announced the launch of its TravelMate 3242 NWXCi notebook PC in India powered by Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Technology.

Acer TravelMate 3242NWXCi notebook PC is powered by Intel Core Duo Processor T2300 with 2-MB L2 Cache, 1.66 GHz, 667MHz FSB and features Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset, 512-MB DDR2 RAM (upgradeable to 4GB using dual soDIMM modules), 60-GB S-ATA hard disk drive with Acer Disk Anti-Shock Protection (DASP) and a DVD+CDRW optical disk.

The new Acer 3242NWXCi notebook PC is equipped with 14-inch widescreen WXGA TFT LCD screen – providing maximum 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, 16.7 million colors, 16:10 viewing ratio – is powered by Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 with up to 224-MB Shared Memory. It is also supporting simultaneous multi-window viewing via Acer GridVista.

Widescreen Acer 3242NWXCi notebook PC provides option for 5-in-1 card reader supporting Secure Digital (SD), MultiMediaCard (MMC), Memory Stick (MS), Memory Stick PRO (MS PRO) and xD-Picture Card (XD).

For high quality audio, Acer 3242NWXCi comes ready with 2 built-in speakers supporting Sound Blaster Pro and MS-Sound compatible audio output. It also has a Built-in microphone.

Powered by Integrated Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG network connection (dual-band tri-mode 802.11a/b/g) for wireless connection, the new Acer 3242NWXCi notebook PC is Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) enabled and has integrated 10/100 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet and a 56kbps V.92 modem built-in.

Acer 3242NWXCi notebook PC is powered by a 3.3 W 4800 mAh Li-ion battery pack (6-cell) which provides 3-hour battery life with 6-cell battery and ATI Mobility Radeon� X1600 graphics. And its Acer QuicCharge technology allows 80% charge in 1 hour, 2-hour rapid charge system-off, 2.5-hour charge-in-use.

Measuring 334 (W) x 243 (D) x 28/35 (H) mm, the Acer 3242NWXCi weight just about 2.35 Kgs without battery and it comes with Free Linux OS with limited fucntionality.
