Dell Announces New Inspiron 640M Notebook PC

Dell recently announced the launch of its new, lightweight, Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Technology powered Inspiron 640M notebook PC that features a 14.1-inch widescreen screen and long battery life.

The new Dell Inspiron 640M is powered by Intel Core Duo Processor T2300 (2-MB L2 cache, 1.66 GHz, 667 MHz FSB) and features 512-MB DDR2 533 MHz SDRAM, 60-GB SATA 7200 rpm hard disk drive and a 24X CDRW/DVD Combo drive.
The Core Duo processor leverages two execution cores on a single chip to help increase your PC’s ability to run multiple applications smoothly.

The Inspiron 640M comes standard with Wi-Fi for connecting to any 802.11 b/g network. Optional 85WHr 9 cell battery can give up to 8:32 hours of productive laptop uptime.

Adding the Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth module allows attaching wireless mice, keyboards, PDAs and other Bluetooth-enabled devices without the hassle of cords and cables.

Dell Inspiron 640M is quite lightweight at 2.5 Kgs and it also features Dell’s MediaDirect for ‘instant-on’ functionality, which gives access to media content without the need to boot Windows.

Options include upto 4 different processors, up to 2GB of memory, 100GB hard drive and a choice of DVD/CD-RW, DVD+/-RW drives. There’s also integrated internal Wi-Fi (802.11b or 802.11 a/b/g), Bluetooth, 4x USB ports, an express card slot, S-Video out, 5-in-1 memory card reader and up to nine hours battery life.
