Toshiba Corporation, launched Qosmio G30 Notebook Powered by Intel Core Duo Processor which is perhaps world’s first notebook PC with HD DVD-ROM drive.
Speaking on the occasion, company’s Computer Systems Division Manager (South Asia) Ivan Kam said that the new version Qosmio G30 is the latest model of Toshiba’s flagship ‘Four-in-one’ audio-video entertainment notebook with state-of-the-art product.
Powered by an Intel Core Duo Processor the Qosmio comes Microsoft Windows XP Media Center preinstalled. It features a built in HD Digital TV tuner as well as an analog TV tuner. You can view and record independently from either of the two tuners.
A 17″ full HD WUXGA LCD Monitor with a resolution of 1920ï¿½1200 makes sure you enjoy your HD Digital TV. A picture in picture feature enables you to watch TV while working on the PC.
Ivan Kam further said the Qosmio G30 was the world’s first PC to integrate an HD DVD-ROM drive, with a slim-type drive only 12.7 mm high and it was achieved with on-drive optical system with a single objective lens able to read HD DVD-ROM discs and read and write to DVDs and CDs.
Toshiba developed this format, which is competing with Sony’s Blu-Ray format to become the standard for the storage requirement of data intensive fields. This format was introduced in the market just a couple of weeks ago with Toshiba selling the HD DVD players in the market.
